Romans 6:1-14   Reading
Studies in the book of: Romans
A Righteous Battle!
Summary
We have a range of views about 'sin'. (even amongst Christians). We still need to take sin seriously.
1. What is sin? Often we have imprecise and unclear concept. Becoming independence of God. I want to decide what is right and wrong when it suits me.
2. The Christian's funeral. Our Christianity starts with a death. (v4,5). To be born again, we must first die. This liberates us from sin - its ruling power. Sin is not our master because of Christ and we have a choice.
3. How to apply this to our lives. (a) v11 - consider yourselves dead to sin. (b) v12 - do not fall back into the old habits and pattern (c) v13 - sin begins with desires and then works out in our bodies. (c) v13 - rather offer ourselves to God.
